I dati attuali delle stazioni meteoorologiche sono un bene inestimabile per capire il tempo che fa ed avere una memoria storica. I principali parametri atmosferici misurati a livello mondiale sono resi disponibili tramiti messaggi e codici spesso ostici per la gente comune. Datameteo raccoglie, analizza e valida i dati di migliala di stazioni meteorologiche a livello locale e mondiale, controllando altresì la validità del dato meteo.
Solo l'1% del globo è coperto da stazioni di rilevamento meteorologico. A queste tecnologie sul fronte del dato attuale si possono affiancare le moderne tecniche di reanalisi che permettono la ricostruzione di archivi meteorologici, relativi ad eventi meteo senza disporre di dati meteorologici rilevati da stazioni al suolo.
In aggiunta sono disponibili dati satellitari validati anche essi dalla nostra esclusiva piattaforma di controllo dei dati.
Un aspetto che sta assumendo sempre più enfasi è proprio la qualità del dato meteorologico, in quanto la disponibilità di reti rilevamento di terzi, reti amatoriali o di stazioni meteo professionali con anomalie può far incorrere nell'utilizzo di dati misurati non veritieri
