Le condizioni climatiche variano da una zona all'altra dello stato. La Transgiordania, sezione del paese posta ad est della Fossa Giordana (depressione bagnata dalle acque del Giordano e dal Mar Morto), presenta un clima arido, con un carattere nettamente desertico: le piogge infatti sono scarsissime (a Ma'an meno d 50 mm annui), le temperature elevate in estate (oltre 30 °C in luglio) e sensibili le escursioni termiche annue (a gennaio si raggiungono i 7 °C). Solo la parte nord- ovest della Transgiordania presenta un clima meno arido (ad Amman si registrano circa 450 mm di piogge annue), con inverni non eccessivamente rigidi anche se ogni tanto nevica (ad Amman come anche a Petra). La parte occidentale del paese, con le regioni della Samaria, parte della Giudea e la città di El Quds (Gerusalemme), presenta rilievi non eccessivamente elevati in parte battuti dai venti freschi e umidi del Mediterraneo: a Gerusalemme le precipitazioni raggiungono i 600 mm ca. l'anno.
The climatic conditions of this country vary from one area to another. TransJordania, a section of the country placed at East of the Jordania Foss ( a depression wet by the river Jordan and by the Dead sea) shows an arid climate with a typical desertic character, rains are, in fact, very poor ( in Ma'an there are less than 50mm of annual rainfalls), temperatures are high in summer (beyond 30°C in July) and annual temperature's excursions are evident ( in January they reach 7°C). Just the North West of Transjordania shows a less arid climate (in Amman there have been registered about 450mm of rainfalls per year) with not very rigid winters even though it sometimes snows( in Amman as in Petra). The western part of the country, together with Samaria, Judea and El Quds's city (e.g. Jerusalem), shows not very high mountainous reliefs dominated by cool and humid winds from the Mediterrean: in Jerusalem precipitations reach 600mm per year.
