Il Clima   Climate
Sotto il profilo climatico, la Russia è caratterizzata da una notevole continentalità che tende ad accentuarsi sia da ovest verso est che da sud verso nord, con un graduale e costante mutamento delle condizioni termiche e pluviometriche. Le precipitazioni, prevalentemente estive, raramente superano i 1000 mm annui e verso sud- est , in corrispondenza della regione caspica, scendono anche sotto i 250 mm (meno di 400 mm cadono in Siberia); le piogge sono però irregolari, variano da un anno all'altro, al punto che, ad esempio, nella Siberia Meridionale ogni dieci anni si hanno da tre a cinque anni di siccità.Le temperature medie mensili, che in luglio oscillano tra i 15 °C di Arcangelo e i 24 °C di Volgograd, Mosca e San Pietroburgo, in gennaio sono ovunque inferiori allo zero (-10 °C a Mosca, ma si può scendere ancora di diversi gradi), ad eccezione di qualche località della Crimea e del Mar Nero orientale. Ojmjakon nel nord- est è il luogo abitato più freddo del mondo: in inverno si arriva anche a -65 °C. Il clima rigido rende un terzo della Russia gelata per sei mesi consecutivi. La primavera e l'autunno sono brevi, mentre il freddo inverno è lungo e l'estate più o meno lunga a seconda della latitudine. San Pietroburgo passa da un inverno in cui si ha solo poca luce e solo per poche ore, a una estate in cui il cielo non si scurisce mai dl tutto.   From a climatic point of view, Russia is characterised continental elements which tend to accentuate both in the west than in the east from south to north, with a gradual and a constant changing of the thermic and rainy conditions. Precipitations, mostly in summer, rarely exceed 1000mm per year and toward south-east, near the Caspian region, they decrease under 250mm ( rainfalls are less than 400mm in Siberia) ; rainfalls are generally irregular varying from one year to another, so , for example, in southern Siberia, every ten years there can be four or five years of droughty.The mean summery temperatures, oscillating between 15°c in Arcangelo and 24°C in Volgograd, Moscow, and Saint Pietrobyìurg in July, are everywhere inferior to 0°C in January ( -10°c in Moscow, but temperature can be lower than this one), except for some areas in Crimea and in the east of the Black Sea. Ojmjakon in the north-east of the country is the coldest place in the world: in winter the temperature can reach -65°C . The rigid Russian climate renders iced a third of the country for six consecutive months. Autumn and Spring are short, while the cold winter is long and the summer is more or less long according to the latitude. Saint Pietroburg has a winter with few light and just for few hours to a summer where it's never dark at all at night.
