Il clima ha carattere nettamente tropicale monsonico, con abbondanti precipitazioni (oltre 2000 mm annui) che cadono soprattutto nel semestre estivo. Le temperature sono particolarmente elevate tutto l'anno, oscillando tra i 21-26 °C in gennaio e i 27-30 °C in luglio. Nelle zone costiere, nella Malacca (Malaysia) e anche nel bacino del Menam, le precipitazioni possono superare i 3000 mm annui; esse diminuiscono (scendendo a meno di 1000 mm annui) nella zona montuosa settentrionale, nella zona orientale della pianura e sui rilievi delle colline.

Thailand has typical tropical and monsoonic characteristics with abundant rainfalls (beyond 2000mm per year) concentrated in summer. Temperatures are elevated all year round oscillating between 21° and 26°C in January and 27°-30°C in July. In the coastal areas, in Malacca (Malasya) and even in the Menam basin , rainfalls exceed 3000mm per year; they decrease ( falling down to less than 1000mm per year) in the northern mountainous area, in the eastern area of the plain and on the hills.
